In this episode we take a quick detour from Women in Travel to speak to an inspiring Woman in Conservation.

Dr. Tempe Adams works with Elephants Without Borders. An NGO dedicated to the protection and conservation of Africa’s elephants through a variety of innovative research and educational studies.

Her role in the organisation is working with communities in helping them live and farm within wildlife areas. She is currently based in the Chobe District of northern Botswana, an area renowned for its high elephant population. Tempe recently published a scientific paper which provides hope towards combating human-elephant conflict by conserving elephants and empowering rural communities.

Her work has been recently featured on BBC – Disco lights keep elephants away from farmland in Botswana

She’s so passionate about succeeding in uniting conservation and community empowerment. At Inspiring African Travel we know that responsible tourism can play a crucial role in assisting their work…
